Bacchanal

Late summer Friday morning and we’re whirling down the slopes of the White Mountains on the way to Sfakia. As we reach the port we notice the ferry already out of the dock. With very few options other than waiting for 90 minutes, we hop on a private water taxi and are off to Marmara beach.

Apokalokero

There’s something to be said about that early morning vibe when you’re off to the Greek Islands. It’s a slow and quiet wake up around Athens as the dark skyline on an empty Kifissias avenue gives way to the first light.

Osmosis

Friday evening 4pm, early May 2010. The ferry from the southwest coast of France has reached Ile d’Yeu and we’re the last ones to get in. We stroll through the mainland of this tiny island on the Atlantic coast, taking note of the whitewashed houses all around that immediately hit a soft spot.

Traveling Light

It’s the final moments on the short flight from Athens, over and across the Aegean archipelago on a strikingly bright day. A tad after the sun comes up we touch down in Paros.

The story starts back in the late 1990s. A tale of many set on the Aegean grid, this one in Mykonos, where a bunch of us in adolescence venture out to for our first summer vacation away from home.
